3rg offer a Close Protection ‘Fast Track’ option for candidates who can demonstrate appropriate experience and expertise within the field. As per SIA guidance, this includes previous Close Protection Training within:
- UK Special Forces
- Royal Military Police
- UK Police Service
As per the full Close Protection course , Fast Track students will be assessed on and required to pass all 7 units as per SIA guidance.
Note: Candidates who do not already have a formal medical qualification will be required to take the First Response Emergency Care (FREC) course, which can be added to the Close Protection course at an additional charge

At our purpose built training facility based on the south coast in Poole, the 3rg team deliver a course at the very forefront of Close Protection Training, providing attendees a unique opportunity to develop core competencies and gain invaluable first-hand experience of operating in this area of the private security sector.
Ray Q (Chief Instructor) – With 25 years’ Close Protection experience, Ray is a former UKSF (SBS) operator conducting Close Protection for Members of Parliament, Ambassadors and Government personnel. Within the commercial sector his array of experience includes – High Net Worth’s, Media, Celebrities, Sporting Teams & Executives. This deep knowledge base and professional skills ensures delegates receive the very best information and advice at all times as part of their training.
Mo Abley (Chief Medical Instructor) – Mo is an experienced, highly trained Paramedic who holds the SIA Close Protection qualification. Mo served as a medic within the Armed Forces (5 Airbourne Brigade) which has enabled him to gain extensive medical knowledge during operational tours. Mo has also held an operational role within police close protection teams as a Paramedic, providing services to the Royal family.
Dayna M (Office Manager / Assessor) – Dayna holds IQA Level 4, as well as the CP qualification which is essential to her role. Dayna is the initial point of contact for students pre-course, on-course and post course enquiries. Her responsibilities include – Course updates, SIA licensing (applying and renewing). Dayna also serves as one of 3rgs Surveillance & Investigation operators, having previously served as an investigator for the DVLA.
