At 3rg we recognise that our personnel are our greatest asset. All Privately Contracted Armed Security Personnel (PCASP) must show the key attributes of knowledge and interpersonal skills to be able to interface directly with ships masters and crews while carrying out their assigned duties.

It is for this reason we stipulate all deployed personnel irrespective of previous experience must undertake our in-house Maritime Security Operators qualification. This qualification is unique in the maritime security sector and addresses the key points of modern day anti-piracy operations. Importantly this training period also allows 3rg instructors to gain a more in depth assessment of a candidate’s knowledge and character, prior to any future employment as part of a Maritime Security Team.

All 3rg PCASP personnel will have to hold the following:

• 3rg Maritime Security Operator (MSO) qualification
• STCW 95 qualification
• ENG 1 medical certificate
• Valid Seaman’s card and Seaman’s discharge book
• FPOS trauma medic qualification (or equivalent)
• Exemplary military testimonial
